Alarm System Repair
Rotor Pixel Technologies was contacted by a customer in distress due to a recurring alarm issue. The alarm was sounding continuously, and the customer was unable to stop it. This problem had occurred twice before, leading to the replacement of the power supply on both occasions. The system was originally installed and maintained by a well-known SSAIB-approved company in the area.
The Challenge:
Upon arrival, our team was presented with an alarm system that had several underlying issues. The immediate problem was that the Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) had tripped, which caused the backup batteries to deplete and triggered the external sounders. The customer expressed frustration over the repeated failures and the costs associated with replacing the power supply multiple times.
Investigation
Our thorough inspection revealed that the system was receiving more than 240 volts, a situation that can cause significant damage to electrical appliances. We noted that the quality of the installation by the previous company was subpar, and it was apparent that necessary checks were not conducted after the last repairs.
The Solution

- Voltage Assessment: We identified and corrected the voltage irregularity to ensure the system received a stable power supply within the safe operating range.
- System Audit: We conducted a comprehensive audit of the entire alarm system to identify any potential weaknesses or faulty components that could lead to future issues.
- Quality Repair: Our team reinstalled key components with high-quality parts and ensured that all connections were secure and up to standard.
- Preventive Measures: We provided the customer with a detailed report and recommended preventive measures to avoid similar issues in the future.
